Gecko Grub
Feeding your gecko can be really fun, but it does take some work. You won’t be just pouring some “gecko food” out of a box and into their dish.
Gecko’s need lots of different kinds of food to stay healthy. They also are born with a desire to “hunt and catch” some of their meals.
Gecko’s love crickets … love to eat them that is. Always feed your gecko pet store crickets. DO NOT feed them crickets you might find around your home or in your backyard. These crickets might have gotten some of the chemicals from your lawn care [fertilizer / weed killer] on them. Just a tiny bit of the chemicals can really hurt your gecko.
Crickets come in different sizes. The crickets you buy should be no bigger than half the size of your gecko’s head. Young gecko’s will eat young crickets and adult gecko’s will eat adult crickets.
Put the crickets [5 or 6] in a plastic bag and add some calcium powder. This is a must for your gecko so their bones will be strong. Close the bag and shake it until all the crickets are covered in a fine dust of the calcium powder.
Take the crickets out and put them in with your gecko. Your gecko will know exactly what to do.
