Dog bites are the 2nd leading cause of injury for children in North America.

“Every year more than 4.7 million people are bitten by a dog … Children between the ages of 5 and 9 are at greater risk of being bitten by a dog and also of being severely injured by that bite.”

Last year 2.7 million children, mostly 10 years old and younger, were bitten.
